Meet Your Attorney - Alejandro Macias Urias
Alejandro Macias has over eight (8) years of experience working in immigration law.
Before founding Macias Law, Alejandro worked as a paralegal for local non-profits in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he helped students apply for DACA, SIJS, and Asylum.
During Law School, Alejandro was selected as a 2019 Peggy Browning Fellow, a competitive nationwide fellowship program for employment law. His fellowship took place at Justice at Work-Legal Aid in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he spent 12 weeks representing immigrant clients with wage theft claims under Pennsylvania State Law and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
In 2021, Alejandro graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law with Honors and Clinical Honors. After graduating law school Alejandro worked at Catholic Charities of Central Texas in Austin, Texas for about (2) two years where he successfully represented clients before USCIS, the Houston Asylum Office, and the San Antonio Immigration Court.
In 2023 Alejandro joined one of the leading immigration firms in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he represented clients in a variety of immigration matters before USCIS and various immigration courts around the United States.
Alejandro also has experience litigating complaints for mandamus, declaratory and injunctive relief, and APA Judicial Review in the U.S. District Court of New Mexico. When USCIS, CBP, or the Houston Asylum is taking too long to make a decision on your case, Alejandro sues the government on your behalf to get the answers you need to keep your case moving forward.
